Lewis Hamilton claims Malaysian Grand Prix pole position, with Sebastian Vettel second
 
LEWIS HAMILTON claimed his second successive pole position of the season, claiming top spot at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
 
 The reigning F1 champion won the season's first race in Australia earlier this month and continued his fine start to the season in a rain-affected qualifying session.
 
 Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel made sure it was not an all Mercedes front to the grind for two weekends running, taking second.
 
 Hamilton's team mate Nico Rosberg took third despite seemingly blocking off the Briton on his penultimate lap.
 
 Hamilton said: "I think the first lap was good, it's always difficult in conditions like that and not one of us have driven in the wet this weekend.
 
 "You don't want to take too much risk. The next one was up and then we lost some but generally it was a fantastic job by the team."
 
 While Rosberg commented: "Third is not good for tomorrow but that is the way it is. It was interesting conditions out there, I have seldom had so much grip in wet conditions.
 
 "Third is on the clean side of the grid, so that should help me get past Sebastian Vettel at the start."
 
 Toro Rosso's 17-year-old star Max Verstappen was the biggest surprise of qualifying, claiming a stunning sixth.
 
 Red Bulls' Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat are in fourth and fifth respectively.
