Liverpool midfielder blasts Man United boss Jose Mourinho and calls him disrespectful
 
LIVERPOOL star Emre Can has waded into the Bastian Schweinsteiger row and accused Jose Mourinho of disrespecting his fellow German.
 
 Can joined the growing band of critics of the Manchester United boss after former Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness said that Mourinho had treated his former player like a “leper.”
 
 The German legend, who has won eight Bundesliga titles and a Champions League, was brought to Old Trafford by Louis van Gaal in 2015.
 
 But Schweinsteiger, 32, has been chucked out of the United first team by Mourinho who is desperate to offload him in the January window.
 
 Schweinsteiger was pictured last week training with the senior squad for the first time since Mourinho’s arrival.
 
 But the United boss later revealed that the World Cup winner was called up to “make up the numbers” after a spate of injuries.
 
 Can, who was in the same Bayern Munich squad at the start of his own career, said: “I know Schweinsteiger very well. I used to play with him. He’s a very good guy and he’s a legend.
 
 “I don’t know what happened there. I think they don’t have too much respect for him.
 
 “It’s a pity because he’s a very good guy. He’s always somebody who works hard and is always a gentleman, always a true guy.
 
 “When I came up to the first team he was the first one who came to me and said, ‘If you need something come to me.’
 
 “It was a big help for me and I’m very thankful for that. I will never forget it."
