ED WOODWARD will join Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford pressure cooker this week if Manchester United suffer more humiliation.
 
 Starsport can reveal that even staff at the club believe the manager’s position would be untenable if United lose at Shrewsbury in the FA Cup on Monday night.
 
 And a double failure this week, with a European exit if United flop again against Midtjylland on Thursday night, would embarrass executive vice-chairman Woodward as well as Van Gaal.
 
 United are already set to have one of their lowest attendances in recent times for the Europa League tie with the fans on the brink of revolt.
 
 If they fail to overcome the 2-1 deficit from the first leg, Champions League involvement next season will be unlikely, as United are off the pace for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
