Cellino steps down from Leeds

MASSIMO CELLINO’S son Ercole has stepped down from his position as director on the Leeds board.

Ercole notified Companies House of his resignation on March 28 and the club have confirmed he is on his way.

The 26-year-old apologised to the club's fans last month after causing offence by using a Nazi reference to describe his haircut in a post on Instagram.

That apology came nine days after his brother and fellow club director Edoardo had been suspended by the FA following offensive comments he made on social media.

Leeds fans' group Time To Go Massimo said in response to Ercole's apology that he was not fit to be a director of the club, but he is unlikely now to face possible action for his comments by the FA.

The FA suspended Ercole's brother Edoardo from all football-related activity for three matches following comments he made on Facebook after getting involved in an abusive row with a supporter.

Edoardo's charge included an "aggravated breach" as his comments included a reference to disability, the FA said.

He was also fined £5,000, warned about to his future conduct and must complete an education course within four months.

The club has confirmed a six-man board of directors comprising of Massimo Cellino, Edoardo Cellino, American financial advisor Daniel Arty, Salem Patel, Jinesh Patel, who both represent former owner Gulf Finance Capital as minority shareholders, and Italian Giampaolo Caboni.
