MANCHESTER United boss Louis van Gaal has been left fuming by the David De Gea transfer saga.
 
 The Spanish star has snubbed a new deal worth £200,000-a-week that would make him the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world.
 
 De Gea has set his heart on a move to Real Madrid to fulfil a childhood dream of playing for the Spanish giants.
 
 It is understood De Gea told United bosses back in January that he would think about signing a new deal if Van Gaal's men finished in the top four to secure Champions League football.
 
 But despite United achieving this and their lucrative offer, De Gea has refused to sign it and told them he wants to go to the Bernabeu instead.
 
 Starsport understands Van Gaal and chief executive Ed Woodward believe De Gea has had his head turned by the Spanish media.
 
 Several outlets are close to Real president Florentino Perez and United blame them for influencing De Gea's decision to quit.
 
 Van Gaal admits the whole episode has left him angry and he said: "Yes (I'm angry with the saga), but I have no problem with it.
 
 "I don't want to respond to this issue through the media. I'll talk to my bosses, not the media, but I have no problem.
 
 United have snubbed a £15m bid for De Gea and told Real he is valued at a world record £35m.
 
 In return, Real have turned down a £30m offer from United for Sergio Ramos and the European rivals have hit a brick wall in the transfer negotiations.
 
 Talks could turn toxic, with De Gea facing the humiliation of returning to pre-season training with United next week despite telling them he wants out.
 
 Ramos, meanwhile, has told Real he wants to join United, as exclusively revealed in Starsport last week.
