Grace with mission accomplished

Grace Fernandes has not passed the final of the 200m T38 class, but had a good time of 32.19, meeting the goal outlined previously, confirming the "The Least" Paralympic Project for maintenance in London 2012.

However the evidence of Nelson Gonçalves Discus Throw F11 (total blind) reached the final with the 8th best mark (29.43m). Goncalves, the heats of 400m T12 (defi. visual), confirmed his class medal in Beijing 2008 by winning with a best time of all qualifiers (50.90), making very good perspectives to repeat the feat in today's final (Sunday).
Athletes from ANDDI (Class 20) after they've all been submitted successfully, the system of classification tests on the Sport, continue to train hard with a view to their evidence. Raquel Cerqueira will first compete in the next 2 Monday (tomorrow) in the long jump final.

The last 2 ANDDI athletes to come into competition, despite having achieved a place in the final, fell short of expectations. Ricardo Marques was 8th in the Final Shot Put with 11.42m, while Samuel Davis was not beyond the 12th and last place in the final of the 1500m.

Highlight of the day once again for Luis Goncalves that reached the silver medal in the 200m T12 (visually impaired).

Tomorrow, last day, attention is focused on the presence of four Portuguese athletes Marathon: Alberto Batista T54 class wheelchair, Carlos Ferreira and Joaquim Machado (T11) and Gabriel Macchi (T12) all with visual impairments.
