QPR FACE DECISION-TIME AS HARRY REDKNAPP ENTERS TALKS OVER UKRAINE JOB

QPR will have to make a quick decision over the future of under-pressure boss Mark Hughes, after Harry Redknapp was linked with the Ukraine national job.

Loftus Road chairman Tony Fernandes is still yet to decide on Hughes' future, after his side suffered a significant loss to fellow strugglers Southampton at the weekend.

Some Rangers fans even held up a banner at the end of the match calling for the Malaysian businessman to bring in Redknapp to turn around the club's awful form.

But club chiefs will have to act quickly if they are to bring in the former Tottenham boss.

The Ukrainian Football Federation today confirmed that they had approached Redknapp's agent with a view to appointing the 65-year-old as their national coach.

"The organisation took the decision to begin talks with Redknapp's representatives relating to him working in the post of chief coach of the national Ukraine team," read a statement on their official website.

Ukraine have been without a coach since late September when Oleg Blokhin resigned to take over at Dynamo Kiev.

If Redknapp did take charge of the Euro 2012 hosts, it would raise the intriguing prospect of him facing England in the sides' World Cup qualifier in September next year.

Redknapp was the fans favourite to be appointed the new England boss, until he was controversially snubbed in favour of Roy Hodgson last May.
