TOTTENHAM HOPE TO COMPLETE JAN VERTONGHEN DEAL TODAY
TOTTENHAM are facing an anxious wait over their proposed deal for Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen.
The north London side are hoping that they will be able to put an end to the protracted saga today, with the defender due to meet bosses at the Dutch club.
Although Spurs have agreed a price with Ajax for the 25-year-old, the move has been held up by Vertonghen's claim that he is entitled to 15 per cent of any fee.
But the Belgian international is confident that he will soon be able to end the row and join up with Tottenham in the next few days.
"There is some movement and we intend to get it done", the player's representative Nakhli Mondial told De Telegraaf.
"We’re now meeting Ajax late in the morning to sit at the table and reach a solution."
If the deal does go ahead, Vertonghen would become Spurs' second signing of the summer following their capture of £8million midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson earlier in the week.
