 FORMER Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes Daley Blind should start in defence as Louis van Gaal's defensive problems pile up.
 
 Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling are all out of the Premier League clash and some pundits have suggested Michael Carrick should be used as an emergency centre-back for the visit of Crystal Palace tomorrow.
 
 However, Neville reckons the returning Carrick should be played in midfield and Blind should fill in at the back for the Premier League clash.
 
 Neville, who now works as a Sky Sports pundit, was asked about the subject on Twitter.
 
 He replied: "Carrick MDF at moment. Blind Defence".
 
 Red Devils boss Van Gaal could turn to youngsters Paddy McNair and Tom Thorpe for the Eagles' visit.
